About

My name is Lorena, I was born and raised in Mexico City but a nomad at heart. A couple years ago I wanted to discover more about my ancestry so I took a DNA test. I discovered I am 50% Indigenous (Yucatan and Oaxaca), 36% Spanish and 8% African. Ever since, I’ve been obsessed about this information and the beauty that comes with the mixture of so many cultures. I am especially proud about my indigenous roots.

One of my biggest passions in life has been learning and creating beautiful things with my hands. Drawing, painting, pompom making, Cricut, card making and my most recent one: beading.

I was introduced to beading by a beautiful human, Katya, in Mexico City last summer. She taught me with so much patience and passion, I immediately fell in love with this form of art. Bead jewelry has a long tradition in Mexico and it can be found in most artisan markets where local women express their identity through colorful beads.

So here I am sharing with all of you this new obsession of mine and a more modern take on this traditional art form. I hope you like what you see!
